The landscape of banking is changing. Industry disruption and digitisation have been a catch phrase for some time but entrants with newer business models, leaner structure and latest technologies will continue to drive disruptions.

From 22nd to 23rd September 2018, 270 delegates across 17 countries joined us at the Silverlake Axis annual FSI conference - Digital Collaboration & Transformation (DCTx) 2018, on insights that will reshape their organisations’ future and remain relevant in the digital era.

In conjunction with Silverlake Axis’ 30th year anniversary, it was our honour to have the Chief Minister of Penang YAB Tuan Chow Kon Yeow sharing his thoughts on digital economy, fintech & new ways of banking and creating a sustainable talent ecosystem to meet the new demands.

Demos & Exhibition

At the DCTX 2018, Silverlake Digital Economy (SDE), led by Choo Soo Ching & David Brearley announced the new banking platform – Möbius.

Möbius is an Open Software Platform for Banking. It is the first time a major core banking vendor has combined award-winning customer-facing digital capabilities with proven core banking processing capabilities to create a unified, open, end-end application software platform for commercial banking. The software platform is a component and RESTful API design, written in JAVA, enriched with technology engines such as rules, workflow and BI engines, and deployable optionally in a J2EE server software stack or in a private cloud software stack.

Merimen (a Silverlake Axis’ subsidiary), the market leader for general insurance claims processing in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, showcased their latest data analytics solution – TrueSight. TrueSight provides real-time AI assistance to claim managers, empowering them to process claims more efficiently, reduce claim cost, and help prevent potential fraud while meeting the growing need for data-driven and timely decision by the insurers.



On the second day of the DCTx 2018, delegates were invited to join the Jit Sin School 100th year anniversary. Themed as “Economic Leadership in The New World Order”, the conference focus how digital technology has levelled the playing field, lowering the barrier of new entry and how should we leverage on the opportunities presented in the shift of global economy.
